Bald Rock National Park

Bald Rock National Park is home to Australia's largest Granite Rock - over 750m long!  Walks in the park explore rugged scenery, and if you're keen, trek to the summit for some of the most dramatic panoramic views you're ever likely to see.  The road to Bald Rock does involve some unpaved sections from the Stanthorpe end, so explore the NSW Parks link below when planning your trip.  Bald Rock is certainly another great place for a picnic, and to get to the base of the rock its an easy 300m walk from the carpark.  The track is paved along its length.  Make sure to visit Boonoo Boonoo during your trip.

  Mt Lindsay Highway

This is a great drive, with canopy covered bitumen for most of its length.  If you travel from the Stanthorpe end there is about 10km of unsealed section prior to Bald Rock, though this can be avoided if traveling from Tenterfield.

  Views
Bald Rock and Boonoo Boonoo both have nominal entry fees, so remember to keep some change in the car.  See the NSW parks site below for further details.

  Views

Certainly the biggest bit of granite you're ever likely to see!  The climb is comparable to Girraween, though to see the rock from this angle, you only need to walk some 300m from your car!

You can find further information on Bald Rock to plan your trip on the
NSW National Parks Website
